See how early literacy opens doors! >>
Literacy opens doors – once a child knows how to read, the world becomes a bigger place for his or her imagination and aspirations to grow.
Summer is a time when most students, especially those from low-income families, lose ground academically. It’s called “the summer slide.” When students return to school in the fall, they often have a lot of catching up to do.
Horizons students actually move ahead over the summer, engaged in activities that make reading fun.
Year after year, Horizons students become stronger readers. Over our 6-week summer program, Horizons students gain 8-12 weeks in reading proficiency -- and are ready for the school year ahead!
